Impermeable Robust Hydrogels via Hybrid Lamination.
Hydrogels have been proposed for sensing, drug delivery, and soft robotics applications, yet most of these materials suffer from low mechanical robustness and high permeability to small molecules, limiting their widespread use. This study reports a general strategy and versatile method to fabricate robust, highly stretchable, and impermeable hydrogel laminates via hybrid lamination of an elasto...
متن کاملRobust Hybrid Control of Constrained Robot Manipulators via Decomposed Equations
Basing on a constraint Jacobian induced orthogonal decomposition of the task space and by requiring the force controller to be orthogonal to the constraint manifold, the dynamics of the constrained robots under hybrid control is decomposed into a set of two equations. One describes the motion of robots moving on the constraint manifold, while the other relates the constraint force with the hybr...
متن کاملRobust stabilization of chained systems via hybrid control
The problem of global robust exponential stabilization of nonholonomic chained systems is addressed and solved by means of a hybrid state feedback control law. It is shown that the control law yields global exponential stability and global robustness against a class of small measurement errors, actuator noises and exogenous disturbances.
متن کاملHighly robust hydrogels via a fast, simple and cytocompatible dual crosslinking-based process.
A highly robust hydrogel device made from a single biopolymer formulation is reported. Owing to the presence of covalent and non-covalent crosslinks, these engineered systems were able to (i) sustain a compressive strength of ca. 20 MPa, (ii) quickly recover upon unloading, and (iii) encapsulate cells with high viability rates.
متن کاملControlled Delivery of Vancomycin via Charged Hydrogels
Surgical site infection (SSI) remains a significant risk for any clean orthopedic surgical procedure. Complications resulting from an SSI often require a second surgery and lengthen patient recovery time. The efficacy of antimicrobial agents delivered to combat SSI is diminished by systemic toxicity, bacterial resistance, and patient compliance to dosing schedules. We submit that development of...
